Abstract

Paratexts in Sufi Narratives Reading In A Cover Text "Abu Huraira Narrated, he said..."Amid the ongoing development in narrative forms and the West's domination over them, Arab writers have been drawn to search for other outlets that align with their beliefs and go beyond what Western literature has offered, accommodates the Arab person's sense of

belonging and aspirations, thus they have invested in the spiritual and religious elements derived from the Sufi heritage, resulting in what is known as Sufi narratives. In this research paper, we aim to shed light on the paratexts in Sufi narratives, specifically by focusing on the cover threshold of the narrative "Abu HurairaNarrated, he said..." by Mahmoud Al-Mas'adi. We consider the cover as a textual threshold that contributes to the overall understanding of the  text's significance and complements its construction
