Electoral behavior has received increasing attention from researchers and scholars, in political science and political sociology alike. Elections are the legitimate means to achieve governance and the peaceful transfer of power, by respecting the popular will, and they are the matters that constitute the essence of democratic governance, which is a popular demand and a slogan raised by political systems, whether democratic or totalitarian.
