The Methodology of Ibn Oba al-Mozammiri al-Djazairi in Organising the 'Matn Ibn Ajurrum' in Grammar.

Abstract

This research paper focuses on one of the most prominent scholars of the Algerian Sahara. He played a distinguished role in the development of linguistic studies in Algeria during the eleventh and twelfth centuries. The paper aims to shed light on an aspect of his noble biography and introduce his significant contributions to Arabic studies. The study focuses on the landmarks of his methodology and the features of his grammatical doctrine in his organisation of Ibn Ājurrūm’s grammar text, through an in-depth study of this system. Accordingly, the study begins with the following question: What can be said about Ibn Abi al-Mazmari al-Djazairi? What was his methodology for compiling/arranging al-ajurrumiyya? 

To answer these questions, the study employs a descriptive-analytical method, and a comparative method is also used to distinguish his organisation and approach from those found in Matn Ibn Ajurrum and related treatments.
