Abstract

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a branch of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that enables computers and machines to understand, interpret, process, and respond to human language in a meaningful manner. In recent years, NLP has become a fundamental technology in the development of virtual assistants such as voice-based and text-based intelligent systems. Virtual assistants like Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant, and ChatGPT use NLP techniques to communicate with users, answer queries, perform tasks, and provide personalized digital services. The integration of NLP in virtual assistants has significantly improved human-computer interaction by enabling machines to understand natural language, speech patterns, context, and user intentions. NLP techniques such as speech recognition, text analysis, sentiment analysis, machine translation, and language generation allow virtual assistants to process voice commands and textual inputs efficiently. These systems are widely used in smartphones, smart homes, customer service, healthcare, education, banking, and e-commerce applications.
